The Puerto Rican singer returns to the music scene with ‘Aquila’, his new studio album, which collects a number of important experiences in his life. It has been described by him as a “very personal” project in which he bares his feelings and promotes a state of complete honesty in search of greater conviction.
‘Aquila’ was labored by the Grammy-winning, Emmy Nominated, American songwriter and record producer, George Noriega. He is the owner of Cutting Cane Productions and Cutting Cane Publishing,
based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The production took place in various cities such as Los Angeles, Miami, Mexico and Puerto Rico.
The most important thing about this union between the artist and the producer were that they both adapt their bohemian style with a flush pattern of success. Capó himself admitted that “I got carried away” by the ideas of the Noriega who certainly added a touch of experience to the sample of ten unreleased tracks which include collaborations of renown writers like Kany García, Pablo Preciado, Rafael Esparza and Luis Fernando Ochoa .
The singer embodied in the creative process mood inspired in recent years that revolves around a positive dose of life and whatever surrounds him. It is an invitation to see the positive side of things without much effort; either heartbreak or full happiness would touch the feelings of anyone who listens to it.
This feeling has to do with the birth of Capó’s third baby boy and the sentiment of health and harmony that his relationships allows him to experiment. The artist presents himself as a rocker that rises in every way.
Pedro, who plays guitar since adolescence, distances himself from his previous self-titled project, written and worked in 2009, but was not released until 2011. ‘Aquila’ gave him the tools to in in vision his work as one of the Puerto Rican singer-songwriters of the new generation, and put him in the picture. His lyrics have been inspiring to many and it is no coincidence that he became internationally recognized by performers such as Noel Schajris and Ednita Nazario whom have recorded songs of his inspiration.
Pedro, the composer, is another facet that he develops almost unwittingly. The artist is constantly writing with his identity as he allows people to discern between subjects ranging in tune with his style.
In his selection process, whether his songs are for him or for other singers, there are no competitions, but harmony. This has earned him several ASCAP awards.
Capó not only distinguishes himself as a singer songwriter, but he is an actor in development. He has been in the cast of the popular Broadway musical ‘Celia: The Life and Music of Celia Cruz’ which was presented in English and Spanish in New York.
Acting for Pedro is another step in his achievements in the art that he professes. He has also starred in ‘The Sweet Spot’, ‘Shut up and Do It’ and ‘Paraiso Travel’ directed by Simon Brand and starring John Leguizamo.

Pedro Capó lleva la música en su DNA, no solo porque es nieto del legendario Bobby Capó, sino porque es todo lo que vive, respire y profesa. Es a través de su arte que expresa los sentimientos más recónditos de su ser develando en cada letra y cada interpretación un poco de su entorno personal y profesional.
El cantautor puertorriqueño regresa al panorama musical con ‘Aquila’, su nuevo disco de estudio, en el que recopila una serie de experiencias importantes en su vida. Tanto que ha sido descrito por él mismo como un proyecto “muy personal” en el que no solo desnuda sus sentimientos, sino que promueve un estado de honestidad plena en busca de una mayor convicción.
‘Aquila’ es un álbum que laboró con el productor George Noriega en Los Ángeles, Miami, México y Puerto Rico adaptando su estilo bohemio y al ras a un patrón de éxito que le propuso el experto. El propio Capó aceptó que “me dejé llevar” por las ideas del productor quien ciertamente le agregó un toque de experiencia a la muestra de diez canciones inéditas entre las que figuran colaboraciones con autores como Kany García, Pablo Preciado, Rafael Esparza y Luis Fernando Ochoa.
El laureado cantante plasmó en el proceso creativo su estado de ánimo en los últimos años que gira en torno a una dosis positiva de ver cualquier desenlace en su vida como en la de terceros. Es una invitación a ver el lado positivo de las cosas sin esforzarse mucho, ya sea en el desamor o en la plena felicidad como tal.
Su ánimo tiene que ver con el nacimiento de su tercer varoncito y la salud, y armonía que le permite una relación estable a través del matrimonio. El artista presenta un álbum rockero y sutil que lo eleva en todos los sentidos.
Pedro, quien toca la guitarra desde la adolescencia, dista un poco de su proyecto homónimo anterior, escrito y trabajado en el 2009, pero que no vio la luz hasta el 2011, porque se trata de etapas en su trayecto. Es éste el que le dio las herramientas para posicionarse como uno de los cantautores puertorriqueños de la nueva generación, así como lo puso en el panorama. Sus letras han sido inspiradoras para muchos y no es casualidad que figuras de renombre internacional como Ednita Nazario y Noel Schajris hayan grabado canciones de su inspiración.
La faceta de compositor es otro de los matices que Capó desarrolla casi sin proponérselo. Está escribiendo constantemente y su identidad como autor le permite discernir entre los temas que van a tono con su estilo y los que podrían caer en manos de terceros. No hay competencia, sino armonía en el proceso de selección. Esto lo ha hecho merecedor de varios premios ASCAP.
Entretanto, el artista se ha destacado además en las tablas con una temporada como parte del elenco de ‘Celia: The Life and Music of Celia Cruz’ que se presentó en inglés y español en Nueva York donde el propio Capó vivió un tiempo. La actuación es otra faceta del arte que le interesa de sobremanera, pero no la ha desarrollado al máximo debido a que la música sigue siendo la protagonista de sus pasos.
Por su gran dominio del lenguaje anglosajón también ha estelarizado en ‘The Sweet Spot’, ‘Shut Up And Do It’ y ‘Paraiso Travel’ dirigida por Simon Brand y protagonizada por John Leguizamo.
